Our goal is to support children’s development with an appropriate professional background and quality development tools.
Bori Benkő Foundation for Children started its operations this year, in September 2022. The reason why we have established the Foundation in connection with the very sad occurrence, that we lost our daughter in tragic circumstances last year.
She devoted her life to the development and teaching of young children, and she deeply believed in inclusive education. She always said that there is no such thing as a bad child, only inappropriate behavior. The teacher needs to understand the reason for it in order to be able to respond well.
Bori was planning to introduce a School in Hungary based on her knowledge and experiences in England.
We would like to sustain her mission and make her dream comes true, and the first step of this route is the cooperation with the Veresegyhazi Tree of Life Waldorf School.
We are very happy that we have the opportunity to work together, as we are bounded with this School in several ways, including our son who studied here for a while.
The Tree of Life Waldorf School of Veresegyhaz opened its gates in 2011. Our goal was to follow Rudolf Steiner’s path to make our school a loving and caring environment for learning, where we put great emphasis on teaching children by using age-appropriate techniques. Our pupils are open-minded, curious, and understanding children because we are not merely focusing on attaining book knowledge, but on improving emotional and spiritual intelligence as well. In addition, strengthening our learners’ will is a key concept in our school.
Honouring traditional values, encouraging teamwork, fostering independent thinking, and teaching children to have faith in themselves are the main principles of our school as we raise and educate students in a safe and warm environment. The form-teachers spend eight years with their classes, therefore a thousand strings connect them to each other. This helps us to personalise the learning material for students’ needs.
Our school puts special emphasis on Arts; we make the acquired learning material enjoyable and memorable by allowing children to experience and connect with different forms of art.
Recently, the number of our pupils and colleagues have increased greatly, and our school has been receiving significant support from the parents and the founding community as well.
Throughout the years, what never changed is our credo; “Receive the children in reverence, educate them in love, and send them forth in freedom” (Rudolf Steiner).
